From 2013 to 2018, I worked in a Special Class for autistic pupils in our rural mainstream primary school. During this time, we were approached by the Special Education Support Service (SESS) to become involved in the production of a video to mark World Autism Day 2016. The film crew recorded lots of footage of different aspects of pupils working during the day. Part of the work that was filmed was pupils working with peg activities. This video briefly shows how the peg resources work. If you watch from about the 6th to the 8th minute, you’ll see my colleague and I use pegs with some of our AEN kids and you will see how these resources are appropriate to the pupils’ needs and how they are helping pupils to achieve their stated targets.
