Days of the Week

Description

This resource is aimed at junior or SEN pupils who are learning the days of the week. It also focuses on the concepts of “before” and “after”.

Cut up the sheets into 14 separate cards and laminate the cards individually. Pupils, or their supporting adult, should read the question about the day of the week on the left side of each card and place a clothes peg on the correct answer on the right side of the card.

This activity is especially suitable for pupils who may know the days of the week but may not be able to write them. It is also good for fine motor skills in the manipulation of the pegs onto the cards.

We frequently gave activities such as this for homework to our SEN pupils. It gave them the sense that they had homework like everyone else and it also allowed the parents to see what Maths/language topic we were currently working on.
